Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller overview - I have the lights on the ethernet card when the PC is suspended this means that the ethernet card is not totally powered off and I'm sure the magic packet reach the device but still no wake-up of the machine.
My Shuttle SG31G2 cube is fitted with a Marvell Yukon 88E8056 gigabit network controller and it was happily working with Windows 7 x 64bit with the latest marvel driver 12. This included the WOL functionality, which I use all the time. After the Windows 10 upgrade, the WOL capability stopped working and on checking the driver, it seems that during the upgrade process the driver was updated to 12. Now WOL only operates if the PC is in sleep mode but in full shut down mode the Ethernet is powered down and not accepting any messages. I tried downgrading to the previously working driver but this has not resolved the issue. I have checked the power management for the Ethernet card and the allow this device to wake the computer is enabled. I have tried everything I could think of, including contacting Shuttle, who could not help and Marvell, who have failed to respond to any messages. Has anyone else suffered a similar issue and if so is there a fix? Kind Regards Si Hi. My server received the latest big update today so is now up to 10. WOL is still not working apart from when the PC is in sleep. I have tried all the recommendations in that article and even tried completely removing the Windows driver and installing the official Marvell latest driver but still this is not working. As confirmed normal network connectivity is fine when the PC is powered up, it is just WOL that does not work. With Windows 7, even when shut down, the LAN card stays active waiting for the magic packet. With Windows 10 the card is powered down when the OS shuts down but remains active in sleep mode. Please can you advise what else I can try or come up with a fix soon. I have the lights on the ethernet card when the PC is suspended this means that the ethernet card is not totally powered off and I'm sure the magic packet reach the device but still no wake-up of the machine. I had the same problem on Windows 10. To resolve it, I went to the Marvell Yukon website and downloaded the driver for my part number and last supported operating system. In my case I have a 88E8053 running on Windows 10 64 bit so picked Windows 7 x64. Pick the Marvell driver. Change this to On. This re-enabled my WakeUp On Lan. The problem appears to be that Microsoft have not implemented the driver with this property in their version. It would be good for Microsoft to update their driver and make this property available. Thanks for the detailed reply and apologies for the delay in getting back. I have tried downloading the latest Marvell installer 12. This does provide the settings you mention: I have checked all of the other settings you mention but when the server is shut down I cannot use WOL. If I put the server in sleep mode then WOL will work. I have tried emailing Marvell but they have never bothered replying. Is there anything else I can try? Once I did, that worked out perfectly. I am running Windows Server 2016, but had to go with a Windows 7 x64 driver to get the setting. Thanks, Mike Thanks for this reply, in order for the extra shutdown setting to appear I ended up using driver version 11. I run a Shuttle sp35p2 non-pro with the 88e8056 Ethernet controller on Windows 10 Home.
